Site Safety Rules

  • Persons under the age of 15 years will not be permitted on site unless accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.
  • Upon entering our sites, subcontractors and visitors will be required to complete a Site Induction and adhere to the site rules.
  • All workers must produce their Construction Induction cards (red cards) upon arrival on site.
  • Subcontractors will be required to produce relevant High Risk Work Licences, certificates of competency or tickets relevant to the task during the site induction.
  • It is a condition of working on the site that any plant must have applicable service records, be operated by a competent operator and have record of WorkSafe registration details (if applicable). Daily pre-start safety inspections are required to be completed for all plant used on site.
  • Subcontractors will be required to produce Current Public Liability Insurance and Workers Compensation Insurance policies before commencing work on site
  • Subcontractors will be required to produce a SWMS (safe work method statement), indicating site specific hazards before commencing work onsite, and work according to their SWMS.
  • Subcontractors will be required to provide material safety data sheets (MSDSs) for any hazardous substances brought onto site. MSDSs must be less than 5 years old.
  • It is a condition of entry to site that all visitors comply with directions given by Nessis Developments Pty Ltd staff or their representative on site.
  • Work carried out on this site must be completed in a manner compliant with all occupational health and safety legislation.
  • All electrical tools and leads used on this site must be tested and tagged in accordance with AS3012 Australian Standard for testing of electrical cables; AS3760 – Service Testing and Inspection of Electrical Equipment.
  • All portable power outlets must be of the RCD-Protected Type.
  • Tools, equipment and ladders must be in good, safe working order.
  • Ensure electrical leads do not come into contact with mobile plant, metal objects, water or debris, and are suspended when required.
  • Ensure your rubbish is placed in designated area and wind blown rubbish is placed in the cage.
  • Keep site and public access and egress clear at all times.
  • Do not tamper with scaffolds and safety items.
  • Ensure ladders are used in accordance with OHS regulations.
  • Ensure site is secure prior to leaving.
  • Workers must protect themselves from UV Radiation at all times.
  • Prior to any excavation works commencing, all sub-contractors should contact dial before you dig.
  • Call the Site Manager if safety problems arise.
  • Report any accidents, incidents and serious hazards to Site Manager. If the incident is of a serious nature, ensure the accident scene remains undisturbed as it may need to be reported to the authorities.
  • Any worker bringing their own tools and leads onto site may be asked to provide test and tag records.
  • Nessis Developments Pty Ltd will, based on the hazards present on the site, enforce our Personal Protective Equipment Policy when PPE (e.g. safety footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, sun protection etc) is required to be worn for specific activities.
